Add this to another station LifeBridge’s Church City Version 2.1 (0.07MB; download) -- LifeBridge is holding another set of public forums to discuss the modifications they made to their plans after the previous public input sessions held back in October. In those sessions, many major concerns were raised by the community. Here is a revised map shown at the meeting. LifeBridge increased the setbacks between the east border and housing developments. Along the Elms, my neighborhood, they will maintain an approximate 100 foot green space buffer between in the two developments. Furthermore, LifeBridge has changed the first row of houses on the east border from retirement patio homes to single family homes that match the size and scale of those in the Elms. This is good news for homeowners. Bruce Grinnell, Director of Campus Planning and Design, was at the meeting. Many comments and questions were directed right to Bruce because community members wanted to hear from a church representative directly versus the design firm. Bruce shed some light on strategy behind some of the various decisions which brought the church to where they are now. Overall, there is still major concern about the scale of the development on this property given the rural surroundings. The community will continue to oppose this incompatible development as is. While these recent changes made by LifeBridge are highly desired, they seem like small tokens to help pacify the community in an effort to move the focus to smaller issues and skirt the larger ones. LifeBridge is planning another set of final public forums on December 8th and 9th. Mark your calendar.
