Add this to another station (A Funky House Mix) (77.82MB; download) -- This episode/mix was arranged exclusively for a recent show I did in Eugene, Oregon USA. Big up's to the Gaia-Tribe who continue to preserve why we do this thing called electronic music. This is just the beginning of many more to come... Over the past 10 years I have seen dance music and its technology evolve from analog performances into the digital age. With Serato DJ's preserving the vinyl format, it goes without question that we will continue to utilize the turntable and digital modules to present our craft for another 10 years and beyond. The age of the digital performer is upon us though, and with this I have been experimenting with different mediums, especially those which involve capturing a set within the Ableton Live platform. This interface literally turns the performer into a producer, and the producer into a performer overnight. With basic production knowledge, a fledgling performer can hone his arrangement skills and quickly create digital ready tracks or mixes to distribute over the net. Likewise, producers who have traditionally stayed within the realms of the studio are now finding themselves venturing out to perform on their laptops with midi interfaces and other compatible gear to produce memorable shows. The simple ease of use within this software allows for creativity to literally flow uninterrupted... The Able-Technolgy podcast and its subsequent episodes/mixes are only one example of utilizing this interface's powerful features. For this mix I performed simple editing and automation to existing tracks contained within my music library, and added sporadic production through out the mix to enhance the flow. The more I work with Live... the more technical each consecutive episode/mix will be, but for the time being please sit back and enjoy the premiere episode of the Able-Technology series podcasts ( A Funky House Mix )

Add this to another station Mirror (5.49MB; download) -- Mirror- Megan Palmer on Sunken Treasure Records. Megan Palmer MP3s Donewaiting.com runs a tiny but lovable record label called Sunken Treasure Records. One of our newest artists is Megan Palmer, a great musician who has done of ton of playing for the likes of Tim Easton, Sarah Harmer and others but is now striking it out on her own. She gets compared to a ton of people from Aimee Mann to Norah Jones, and that's good company if you ask me.MP3: "Tomorrow's" by Megan Palmer MP3: "Angelo" by Megan Palmer MP3: "Mirror" by Megan PalmerBUY: Label | Amazon | EMusic | iTunes [donewaiting.com]

Add this to another station Out of The Past, Episode 13: It's a Wonderful Life (22.64MB; download) -- An interesting discussion via the "Out of the Past" podcast. I don't entirely agree with the analysis, but found many points intriguing. - Gary (Mediaburn.net) .......... With "It's A Wonderful Life" Capra launched his independent studio, Liberty Films. He thought he had a guaranteed box office winner, with stars Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, and the power-to-the-people message that had made his pre-war films such successes. He was wrong. Capra never seemed to realize what a dark film he had made, nor understand that his populist message no longer resonated. This film would not acheive great success until decades later, when the divorce generation would (mis)read it as a tale of the redemptive virtues of the nuclear family. Richard and Shannon read it as a proof of just how influential noir's themes and visual style were in the wake of the war. Welcome to 1946--the year of suicide, and noir.
