Add this to another station The Podcasting Unconference 2006 at PME - Elizabeth Lewin - Moving Podcasting from Geeks and Gadgets to Grannies and Groceries (37.15MB; download) -- With tens of thousands of podcasts now being published, and yet less than 10% of all computer users having ever listened to a podcast, how does podcasting "go mainstream?" Many of the most popular podcasts are targeted at podcasters and other computer-centered topics. What, besides just time, will it take to get podcasting to be as broadly accepted as other media? Elisabeth Lewin (Publisher, Podcasting News) will lead a no-holds-barred discussion on this vital topic.

Scoble is best known for his popular blog, Scobleizer, which came to prominence during his tenure as a technical evangelist at Microsoft. He currently works at PodTech.net, a video-podcast startup. He is also author of Naked Conversations: How Blogs are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers. Scoble has long been a prominent advocate of both RSS technology and the Tablet PC. Add this to another station The Podcasting Unconference 2006 at PME - Scott Sigler - EarthCore II: A Sneak Preview of "Mt. Fitzroy." (27.94MB; download) -- Scott Sigler is on a one-man mission to change the face of fiction publishing (ok, so it's more than one-man, it's many-man, or actually, many-person, but "one-man" sounds much more dramatic and Clint Eastwoodish). Scott will give an overview of why podcasting slays the content gatekeepers of publishing, eliminates narrow definitions of genre, and puts the decision of what is "good" and what is "bad" writing in the hands of the reader, not the editor. And get ready all you Junkies, Scott will spend the last 10 minutes reading a scene from "Mt. Fitzroy," the sequel to "EarthCore." He also might rant a little bit. It will be just like listening to his podcast, only with facial expressions and the blinding glare of his bald melon.
