Every week, new two-hour DJ-led podcasts will be posted, with London’s Brian Hurst and Atlanta’s Jamal Ahmad and Cha-Cha Jones at the forefront of the programming. These no-charge downloads will be made available in both HD (256 kbps) and LE (128 kbps) versions with a full playlist posted simultaneously, which in turn will be specifically track-linked to the relevant UK and US websites of Amazon, Amazon MP3, iTunes and eMusic. This will enable the listener to easily identify and purchase CD’s or downloads from any of the affiliate partners. Additional one-hour specials known as ‘Extra Inches’ will be produced weekly and all podcasts will be notified directly to those wishing to subscribe via the RSS feed.
The website will be introduced in three stages with the podcast service developing through 2009 and a full, live internet radio offering, www.soulandjazz.fm, arriving in 2010. During this time, www.soulandjazz.com will also concentrate on broadening its programming content, along with editorial, social networking and merchandising. The third stage will see the launch of www.soulandjazz.tv in the autumn of 2010.
